Cross-Country & Nordic.
The NCC Greenbelt holds 21+ km of mechanically groomed classic cross-country ski trail and 100+ km of groomed multi-use winter trail (shared snowshoe, fat-bike, and hike). Greenbelt Pathway West (10.4 km) and Watts Creek Pathway (9.3 km, part of the Great Trail) are the longer classic-track routes; Mer Bleue carries XC and snowshoe trails through the bog.
The brief.
The Greenbelt's groomed classic XC network is operated by the National Capital Commission and free to access; the trails are mechanically groomed for classic technique. Greenbelt Pathway West (10.4 km) and Watts Creek Pathway (9.3 km) are the headline classic-track routes; Watts Creek is part of the Great Trail.
Mer Bleue's XC and snowshoe trails run on the bog perimeter. The headline classic-XC system in the Outaouais region — Gatineau Park's 200+ km network — sits across the river in Quebec and is out of scope here; the Ontario-side product is a substantial in-city Nordic network in its own right.
Season runs January through March in most years.
