Arrowhead Provincial Park grooms its trail network in winter alongside the better-known ice-skating trail, and the park store rents skis (including sit-skis) and snowshoes through the cold months. East of the boundary in Lake of Bays township, the Limberlost Forest's 70+ kilometres of multi-use trail run free in winter on the same safety-waiver access as summer.

Reliable Canadian Shield snow holds the winter season together mid-December through early March — Huntsville averages around 282 cm of annual snowfall and the higher Hidden Valley elevation records closer to 343 cm. Arrowhead's winter trail network is the in-Town anchor, and the on-park store rents skis, sit-skis, snowshoes, ice skates, and ice sledges.
Limberlost's network sits in Lake of Bays township a short drive east; visitors must complete an online safety waiver before arrival, and access runs daily 9 a.m.–5 p.m. with leashed dogs welcome.
