South Algonquin is the eastern gateway township to Algonquin Provincial Park — the East Gate sits at km 55.8 of the Highway 60 Corridor, just east of the village of Whitney inside the township boundary. Galeairy Lake at Whitney sits on the Park boundary and feeds the same shield-water system.
