Camping.

Five GRCA conservation areas carry frontcountry and RV camping along the Grand corridor: Byng Island near Dunnville at the river mouth, Brant near Brantford on the lower Grand, Rockwood on the Eramosa, Elora Gorge above the limestone cliffs, and Pinehurst Lake on the upper watershed. The ring covers the river end-to-end, with each campground tied to its own swimming, paddling, or hiking feature.

Camping in Grand River
01 — What to know

The brief.

Camping season runs May through mid-October at most GRCA areas; reservations open through the GRCA reservation system. Sites range from non-electric tent sites to full-hookup RV sites depending on the area.

Elora Gorge pairs camping with the gorge-edge trails and tubing season, Rockwood pairs camping with the swimming hole and pothole walks, and Byng Island pairs camping with a river beach near the Lake Erie mouth. Each area runs on the GRCA conservation-area rules — quiet hours, fire restrictions, alcohol policies — that vary by season.
