River Canard Canoe Company.
Year-round canoe, kayak, and paddleboard rentals with guided tours on the Canard River south of Windsor, Ontario

The brief.
River Canard Canoe Company is a year-round paddling outfitter and general store on the Canard River at 9350 Malden Rd, in the hamlet of River Canard between Amherstburg and LaSalle, roughly 12 miles south of central Windsor. The site sits on what the operator describes as Canada's southernmost river system — slow-moving water that suits beginner and family paddlers. Self-guided canoe, kayak, tandem kayak, rowboat, and paddleboard rentals are priced at flat per-rental rates with paddles, life vests, and a water-safety lesson included. Guided river tours, group big-canoe outings, full-moon moonfloats, and an October Phantoms of the Canard Ghost Tour round out the program. The outpost is open daily 7am–10pm including all holidays.
