Nature & Discovery.

Mountsberg Conservation Area sits on the boundary between Puslinch and Hamilton/Flamborough, with most of the day-use programming — including the Hamilton Conservation Authority's Raptor Centre and the permanent-resident birds of prey — accessed from the Hamilton side. Mountsberg is a documented eBird hotspot with a substantial species list across waterfowl, raptors, and migrant songbirds.

On the Puslinch side, the boundary woodlots and trail approaches plus the Grand River Conservation Authority's Puslinch Tract anchor a quieter, less-programmed nature substrate.

01 — What to know

The brief.

Spring (April–May) and fall (September–October) are the strongest birding windows at Mountsberg — migrants concentrate through the corridor and the Raptor Centre runs scheduled programming year-round around the permanent-resident birds. The Mountsberg day-use hub is HCA-operated; day-use fees and seasonal hours apply.

The GRCA Puslinch Tract is a passive day-use forest property without facilities, used informally by birders looking for moraine-forest species in a quieter setting. The combined substrate carries the township's strongest non-heritage outdoor programming.
