Lambton Shores.
Lambton Shores stretches along the southeast shore of Lake Huron between the Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation territory and Bluewater, anchored by the resort village of Grand Bend at the mouth of the Ausable River and by the inland communities of Forest, Thedford, and Arkona. Pinery Provincial Park covers about 21 square kilometres of remnant oak savannah and Carolinian forest along Lake Huron south of Grand Bend, with roughly 1,000 campsites split across the Burley, Riverside, and Dunes campgrounds and a 14-kilometre paved Savannah Trail running the length of the park.
The Old Ausable Channel — a relict bend of the Ausable River — runs about 14 kilometres of paddleable flatwater through the campgrounds. The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada designated Pinery a Dark Sky Preserve in 2007, and the park sits within an easy reach of London, Sarnia, and the GTA.
Inland, Rock Glen Conservation Area at Arkona exposes Devonian fossil beds and a 12-metre waterfall on the Ausable.

Pinery Provincial Park's ten named trails run through oak savannah, Carolinian forest, dune ridges, and swamp forest — the Cedar (2.3 km) and Riverside (2 km) trails follow the Old Ausable Channel; the Wilderness Trail (3 km) runs through the largest unbroken oak savannah block; the Heritage (2.5 km), Carolinian (1.2 km), and Lookout (1 km) trails work the dune-and-savannah edge; and the Sassafras boardwalk (0.5 km) and the Bittersweet (1.5 km) loop give accessible options. Inland, Rock Glen's stair-and-ramp trail at Arkona drops into the Ausable gorge, and L Lake Conservation Area at Thedford runs a wetland-edge walking loop.

The Old Ausable Channel runs roughly 14 kilometres through Pinery Provincial Park as a relict bend of the Ausable River, isolated from the main Ausable since the channel was realigned. The water is sheltered, slow, and threaded by overhanging Carolinian forest on both banks; canoe and kayak rentals out of the park put paddlers directly on the water from the campgrounds. Above the falls at Rock Glen, the Ausable carries a short flatwater segment accessible from the conservation area.

The Grand Bend Marina sits at the mouth of the Ausable River, sheltered behind the river-mouth geometry from the prevailing southwest Lake Huron wind. From the marina, recreational sailors and powerboaters run out into the Lake Huron main basin and along Highway 21 north toward the Bayfield corridor or south toward Kettle Point and Sarnia. The marina, the Main Beach boardwalk, and the boardwalk concessions sit on a single short walking loop at the river mouth.

Grand Bend Main Beach is a Blue Flag beach at the mouth of the Ausable River with a boardwalk, drive-up parking, washrooms, lifeguards in season, and direct access onto Lake Huron sand. South of Grand Bend, Pinery Provincial Park carries roughly ten kilometres of in-park Lake Huron beach with seven day-use access points across the length of the park, much quieter than Grand Bend Main Beach in mid-summer. The Lake Huron pier and shoreline at Grand Bend open to the open-water fishery in Fisheries Management Zone 13 (Lake Huron main basin) for chinook and coho salmon, rainbow trout, lake trout, walleye, and brown trout. Inland, the Ausable River and the Old Ausable Channel through Pinery carry a warmwater fishery — smallmouth bass, pike, and panfish — accessible from the park campgrounds and Rock Glen.
