Calabogie Lake, formed by damming the Madawaska River through the village of Calabogie, is the township's primary sailing and motorboating water — public and resort launches, Calabogie Peaks lakefront dock, and a long open lake stretching west from the village. Black Donald and Centennial lakes upstream add quieter cruising waters on the same Madawaska chain.
The brief.
Calabogie Lake supports day sailing, motorboating, and waterskiing through summer (late June through early September is the busiest stretch). Public access in the village is straightforward; resort access is for guests of Calabogie Peaks.
Black Donald is a larger and quieter lake — good for cruising with fewer marinas and shoreline services. There is no commercial passenger ferry in-township.
