Grand River Cruises.
Family-run dining and charter cruises on the Grand River between Caledonia and Onondaga, operating since 1978
The brief.
Grand River Cruises is a family-owned cruise operator on the Grand River in Caledonia, Ontario, about 30 minutes south of Hamilton and roughly an hour from Toronto and Kitchener. The business has been running since 1978, when founder John Albin launched the Grand River Belle; today his children Blain and Dana Johnson run the operation, with Dana's husband Beau joining in 2013. A three-vessel fleet — the Grand River Belle, Grand River Princess, and Grand River Queen — carries up to 49 passengers each along a 20-kilometre stretch of river between Caledonia and Onondaga. Vessels are inspected annually by Transport Canada and AGCO-licensed for full bar service. The 2026 season runs from May 20 through October 9.
