The brief.
Cruising Canoes Adventure Co. is a guided paddling and adventure operator founded in 2010 by Andrew "Twiggy" Twigg, with a permanent base — The Outpost — at 1011 Lancaster Lane on Mississagagon Lake in North Frontenac. As an Organizational member of ORCKA, the company specialises in canoe-certification courses, running the ORCKA Basic Canoeing Levels 1–3 in a single day and a five-day summer camp for ages 12–16 that awards three certificates: ORCKA Basic Paddling Level 3, ORCKA Canoe Tripping Level 1, and a Cruising Canoes Wilderness Survival Basic. The operator has been running insured high-school canoe trips since 2016 and works regularly with Girl Guides, Scouts, YMCA and Canadian military training groups. Year-round programming spans summer canoe/kayak/SUP rentals, guided river paddles on the Trent, ice-fishing trips and winter hot-tent camping in Esker tents.

For: Individuals and groupsWhen: Summer at The OutpostPremium paddling rentals at The Outpost on Mississagagon Lake: a Souris River Quetico 18.5 three-seat canoe (49 lb) with paddles and PFDs; Clearwater Designs kayaks (NuNu 9'6", and the broader Inuvik 13 with an optional Inuvik Angler fishing package); and the Inukshuk SUP — a wide, stable starter board. For: Ages 12+; no prerequisite, prior experience or strong physical fitness helpfulWhen: Single full-day courseA condensed one-day course covering ORCKA Basic Canoeing Levels 1 through 3 in a tandem canoe — the prerequisite for Level 4 solo certification. Winter Hot Tent Camping at The Outpost
Per-night winter camping at The Outpost in canvas hot tents with wood stoves supplied; canvas-tent season opens October 16. Designated sites include "The Marshlands" (a large gathering site at basecamp, booked via airbnb.com/h/marshlandsoutpost) and "The Beeches" (queen bed with linens, fur pillows, cabin-sized wood stove and two Adirondack chairs by the fire, booked via airbnb.com/h/beechesoutpost). No pets.

High School Canoe Trips
Group canoe trips for schools, running since 2016. Trip format covers a safety and paddling lesson, paddle-and-portage navigation, camp setup and outdoor cooking, and basic survival skills (fire-starting with flint and steel, orienteering, shelter building).
