Sailing & Boating.

Trent Hills sits on the Trent-Severn Waterway, the 386 km Parks Canada heritage canal between Lake Ontario at Trenton and Georgian Bay at Port Severn. Five lockstations sit inside the municipal boundary — the Lock 11/12 flight at Ranney Falls and Lock 13 at Campbellford, Locks 16/17 at Healey Falls, and Lock 18 at Hastings — and Campbellford and Hastings each operate municipal marinas on the river.

01 — What to know

The brief.

Through-cruising between the Bay of Quinte and Lake Simcoe passes the Trent Hills village waterfronts directly; the Ranney Falls flight (Lock 11/12) is the largest single elevation change inside the municipality. Locking through the Trent-Severn requires the Parks Canada navigation pass and operates on a published seasonal schedule (roughly mid-May through mid-October).

Open-water sailing is not the local product; this is a small-craft cruising and houseboat corridor. Campbellford and Hastings marinas offer transient mooring during navigation season; Healey Falls (Locks 16/17) sits in a quieter rural stretch between the two village marinas.
