South River.

South River is a small Almaguin Highlands village on the South River, sitting on Highway 11 between Sundridge and Trout Creek in Parry Sound District. The village's role on the Ontario outdoor map is gateway rather than destination: Highway 522 runs east from town to the Kawawaymog (Round Lake) Access — Algonquin Provincial Park's western canoe entry into the Tim River and North Tea Lake interior.

The South River itself flows west of the village toward the Lake Nipissing watershed, carrying small-stream paddling and FMZ 11 warmwater and coolwater fishing along its accessible reaches. In winter, the OFSC Trans Ontario Provincial trail network runs through the Almaguin corridor with the village as a fuel-and-services stop on the groomed snowmobile route.

Algonquin Park is the reference frame here, not the in-region content — the Park's interior trails and Highway 60 corridor sit east of the boundary and belong to the Park's own pages.
