Snow Adventure.
The Hastings Heritage Trail's northern terminus sits at Lake St. Peter inside Hastings Highlands — the 156-kilometre EOTA corridor along the abandoned Central Ontario Railway runs south from the township toward Glen Ross.
Hastings Highlands is in OFSC District 6, with two named local member clubs — the Mapleleaf Snowskimmers and the Peterson Pathfinders — grooming the township snowmobile network.
The brief.
The Hastings Heritage Trail's snowmobile identity is the headline winter use; OFSC permits are required and grooming is handled by EOTA in coordination with the local clubs (Mapleleaf Snowskimmers, Peterson Pathfinders). The North Ontario ATV Trail network and OFSC District 6 trails extend the corridor across the rural township.
The standard snowmobile window is mid-December through mid-March, dependent on Shield-corridor snow cover and groomed-trail status. EOTA passes for ATV/dirtbike are $150 annual / $75 weekly / $25 daily.
Snowshoeing on the in-municipality segments of the Heritage Trail and inside Lake St. Peter Provincial Park is free year-round, weather permitting — Lake St.
Peter operates seasonally for camping but the trails remain accessible.
