Three Lake Huron sand beaches sit inside Goderich's compact downtown — North Beach on the river side of the harbour, Main Beach at the central pavilion-and-sand stretch, and St. Christopher's (Cove) Beach on the south shore — all connected by the harbour boardwalk beneath the 1847 lighthouse.
North on the Bluewater corridor, Point Farms Provincial Park carries an Ontario Parks bluff-top day-use park and a longer, quieter Lake Huron beach.
The brief.
Late June through early September is the swimming window on Lake Huron east shore; the boardwalk-and-beach loop is walkable from May through October. Town of Goderich beach and boardwalk by-laws apply (leashed dogs by season, alcohol and fire restrictions, posted at access points).
Main Beach is the central pavilion swim beach with the most amenities; North Beach is on the river side of the harbour, quieter than Main; St. Christopher's wraps the south shore beyond the harbour.
Point Farms Provincial Park (a short drive north) requires Ontario Parks day-use or overnight permits and runs seasonally May through October.
