Swimming & Beach in Georgian Bay
01 — What to know

The brief.

The two Township beaches are open seasonally (roughly late June through Labour Day for staffed-services), with free resident parking at Port Severn Park. Six Mile Lake's three sandy beaches include a designated pet beach and are open during the park's services season (roughly May 11 through October 9 in 2025).

Lake-water beaches in this region warm into July and August; June is often cold, and water conditions on Georgian Bay open water are colder than the inland-lake beaches at Stewart Lake or Six Mile Lake.
