Three distinct heritage layers anchor Central Elgin. Port Stanley Terminal Rail operates a heritage tourist railway between Port Stanley and St.
Thomas on the former London & Port Stanley right-of-way. The village of Sparta, inland from the lake, is a Heritage Conservation District founded by Quaker settlers in the early nineteenth century.
And Port Stanley Festival Theatre runs a summer-stock company through the warm season at the lake-end of the L&PS line.

Port Stanley Terminal Rail is the marquee heritage operation — the L&PS line ran electric service from London through St. Thomas to the Port Stanley harbour and beach, and the heritage railway preserves the southern section as a tourist line with seasonal scheduled runs.
Sparta's Heritage Conservation District covers the village core; a self-guided heritage walk is the standard visit, with several artisan studios and a small village green. Port Stanley Festival Theatre runs a summer schedule of Canadian and international works at its lake-end venue.
